Gather Resources
- Players collect resources such as wood from trees, stone from rocks, metal from various sources
- Currency, magic items,and souls from defeated monsters. These resources are essential for crafting and upgrading items.
Survive the night
- Combat includes a variety of attacks and defensive maneuvers.
- Players must manage health, stamina, and inventory during battles.
- Upon death, items in the inventory are lost, but those in the hotbar are retained.
Craft Items
- Players can craft various items including pickaxes, axes, swords, armor sets, potions, and more
- Recipes are unlocked as players progress through the game, discover new materials, and acquire knowledge from NPCs or items.
- Inspired by Stardew Valley
Build Base
- Players can upgrade their base with barricades, reinforced walls, traps, and other defensive structures.
- Upgrading the base unlocks new areas and defenses, making it essential for survival
Ideas from where the ideas came from
The main mechanics are inspired by survival games like Valheim with the day/night cycle and the area lock for certain mobs that the character can fight. The mechanics of moving are and how the game art will be 2D and inspired from terraria where the character can walk on a 2D plane. We are still deciding if we have time to make the character and the environment 3D.
The environment was inspired by medieval games like elden ring, etc. This would be shown through the castle kingdom that you have to rebuild and the environments around the character and the armor and tools that the character will have.
Overview:
Kingdom (working name) is a 2D action-adventure game that combines elements of survival, exploration, combat, and base-building. Players wake up into the role of the main character that finds themselves stranded in a mysterious land filled with monsters and challenges. To survive and discover more about the kingdom, players must collect resources, explore the world, engage in combat with various enemies, and upgrade their base, armor, and weapons.
Setting/ Plot
The narrative unfolds as players uncover the truth behind the kingdom's downfall and their own lost memories. The main antagonist is revealed to be the corrupted king, whom the player must confront in the final showdown. The game takes place in a mystical unnamed kingdom, a land once thriving with magic and prosperity. The kingdom is nestled amidst lush forests, rugged mountains, and treacherous caverns. The once magnificent castle now lies in ruins, a stark reminder of the kingdom's fall from grace.
